Installation
Windows setup
Windows 10 22H2 or newer, Intel / AMD 64-bit.
- Extract the ZIP. It contains the signed installer and
readme.txt. - Close After Effects and Premiere Pro. Double-click
Macks-Media-Downloader-Setup-1.1.29.exeand follow the wizard. - Reopen Adobe. Choose Window > Extensions > Mack's Media Downloader. Click the key icon and enter your activation code.
Mac setup
macOS 13.5 or newer. Apple Silicon needs Rosetta for the included media tools.
- Open the signed Mac disk image (.dmg). It contains the complete plugin folder and
READ ME FIRST - Mac Installation.txt. - Close After Effects and Premiere Pro. In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and paste
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/. If it does not exist, createCEP, thenextensions, inside your user Library's Adobe folder. - Drag the complete
Macks-Media-Downloaderfolder intoextensions. Replace an older copy rather than merging. Keep backups outside CEP, then eject the disk image. - Reopen Adobe. Choose Window > Extensions > Mack's Media Downloader, then use the key icon to activate. Settings > Update Now checks the Mac panel and nightly downloader.
Apple-signed and notarized. No Terminal script, ZXP installer, or separate helper files. Install in your user Library so routine updates can replace the folder. Workplace policies may still restrict plugins; do not disable security protections if blocked.
Updates and help
To update, open the plugin's gear icon and choose Update now with an active code.
Reinstalling preserves your accounts, license, settings and downloaded footage. If setup finds a duplicate MMD copy, it shows the exact folder to move outside Adobe CEP extensions. Leave other extensions alone.
If you see INSTALLATION FAILED, keep the message and contact support. Do not keep copying folders or disabling security tools.
The panel targets After Effects and Premiere Pro 2020 onward. Intel and Apple Silicon package checks have passed; not every Adobe/OS combination has been tested.
